Job Description:Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Research and Analytics to execute analytic and measurement methodology to support the growth of traffic and revenue to its network of web sites and wireless products. Responsibilities include review and administration of web e-mail campaign analytics, online surveys, and qualitative market research. The candidate will work very closely with the local and national sales, editorial, marketing, product management, and business development teams as well as directly with the television station research directors to accomplish full scale analytics. This position will report to one of the division Vice Presidents.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 Analyze the competitive landscape in regards to traffic, track and compare traffic drivers to competitive sites, recommend product enhancements to increase traffic based on research.
 Develop web analytics reports that show how sites are used and by whom and how marketing programs, new product changes and content impact site utilization.
 Recommend website and product changes based on insights drawn from analysis to improve overall performance and traffic.
 Provide competitive sales information including researching market advertisers and advertisers on competitors’ properties
 Monitor competition content and product releases to position properties as market leaders and distinctive
 Develop key quantifiable benchmarks to track success rates and impact on new marketing activities.
 Assume responsibility for all marketing analytics and integrate the results into marketing strategies.
 Develop and monitor email newsletter metrics including open rates, click rates and opt-out trends.
 Assist in evaluating the quantitative benefits of new business initiatives by having a thorough understanding of online customer behaviors.
 Develop and implement web-based user surveys to determine what type of products and content would be most useful to them.
 Conduct focus groups to understand current market conditions, competitive landscape and brand identity.
 Supervise vendors performing various components of research studies.
 Define requirements designed to grow the capacity of measurement capabilities – work closely with IT on technical aspects of web analytics application. For example, recommend and oversee improvements to analytics solution; informing members of the team about new capabilities of software package, emerging analytics best practices and training opportunities.
 Support ad-hoc analytical requests for information from different business units - including editorial, site design, product management, business development, marketing, and advertising sales.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
 BA or BS in a related field;
 5-7 years online research and analytics experience
 Must be able to create, analyze and interpret statistical analyses
 Self-starter able to drive initiatives forward and work well under pressure
 Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
 Deep understanding of consumer facing online experiences
 Excellent portfolio of work and evidence of depth of knowledge in analytics
 Driven by an inherent understanding of where the digital media market is going but possessing an open and flexible mindset as to how we will capture the opportunity
 Strong process orientation and execution skills
 Strong reporting and presentation skills

EDUCATION
College Degree B.S./B.A. required. Post graduate degree preferred.
