Overall Purpose:
The Sr. Performance Analyst role oversees design, implementation and delivery of actionable measurement, analytic and optimization strategies that improve the performance and profitability of our clients’ integrated marketing programs. While a heavy emphasis will be placed on the combined performance and interplay of online media, search, web and email activity, additional offline metrics for TV, print, radio and direct mail will often be incorporated. The Sr. Analyst’s role is to enable a holistic view of the consumer’s total exposure, interaction and resulting value across all points of contact and provide insightful analysis that drives continuous testing, learning and optimization. As this is a developing practice, a key component of the role is to contribute to establishing best practices and defining Data Intelligence practice for internal as well as external audiences.
This individual will report to the Associate Director, Data Intelligence and be responsible for day-to-day management and communication to various client and agency team members. The Sr. Analyst is expected to support 1-3 key clients depending on size, scope and complexity and will eventually have the opportunity to manage junior team members. He/she will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating across Marketing Sciences, Account Management, Program Management, Media and Creative to ensure measurement requirements and deliverables are properly scoped and deployed.
The Sr. Analyst will present insights, conclusions and proposals to internal team leaders and clients, supporting their perspective with the results of quantitative analysis. He/she will suggest best practices for aggregating, analyzing and reporting on online and offline marketing data, response metrics and transactional data from a wide variety of applications and sources.
Based on a comprehensive understanding of your client’s business and program goals, the Sr. Analyst will be responsible for identifying opportunities outside of stated needs. In addition, he/she will support new business development as a subject matter expert. This may include a range of requirements from the presentation of our organization’s analytic and performance management capabilities to development of proposed approaches and methodologies.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Represent the Performance Management capability in internal and external meetings by translating client objectives and requests into insightful analysis and recommendations
· Contribute to and pursue a methodical optimization strategy based on an established learning agenda
· Serve as an agency expert on data management platforms, analytic/reporting tools, media serving and web site tracking systems
· Lead the identification of data requirements, appends, transformations needed to enable measurement/analysis and prepare detailed scope-of-work documentation for execution of these projects
· Develop and present key findings and recommendations for optimization within the context of end-to-end, customer lifecycle management
· Prepare executive summaries backed with complete detailed analysis, clear explanation of trends, challenges and opportunities identified
· Work with our clients data management and technical staff to identify and secure key data elements based upon client objectives and industry best practices for our internal analysis, scoring, modeling and reporting
· Contribute to development of a world-class Data Intelligence capability
· Work with internal teams to ensure closed-loop marketing and integration between disciplines and delivery of data-driven recommendations for optimization
· Eventually, lead and develop junior team members by managing career development opportunities
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree required
· 4+ years in marketing analytics and test design with a focus on providing actionable insights
· Experience in a digital agency or marketing consultancy preferred
· Experience making program recommendations based upon outcome of data analysis
· Proven ability to efficiently manage and implement quick-turnaround, tactical projects
· Proven track record for translating client needs into technical requirements for the purpose of data aggregation and analysis
· Strong management skills, both project management and team management
· Experience leading and managing junior team members
· Must be self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset and work well in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment
· Commitment to the growth of this capability while delivering creative solutions
· Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and client relationship-building skills
· Strong proficiency using MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, SQL Server
· Strong proficiency using web analytics tools such as Omniture, Coremetrics or Webtrends
· Proficiency in SAS and/or SPSS reporting/analytics tools
