Job Description:Job Purpose:

Maintain, Evaluate, Develop, Implement and Track/Monitor analytically robust credit risk collections strategies to optimize (add value to) the UK cards portfolio performance.
The primary focus being to add value through managing impairment down on high risk accounts.

Main Accountabilities:

Maintain Evaluate, Develop, Implement and Track/Monitor credit risk collections management strategies. Key decision areas within HRA Limits Management are:
To analyze portfolio trends as a function of collections activity.
Segment delinquent portfolio by relevant risk bands, evaluate performance and propose changes when needed and to implement them in the decision system.
Monitor and maintain existing strategies.
Research alternatives to current lending criteria to optimize risk – reward equation through adequate limit assignment.

Technical Skills/Competencies:

Analytical ability – well developed analysis skills, evidenced through portfolio analysis and strategy development. Desire to proactively keep their own specialist skills and knowledge at leading edge standard in order to fulfill their role. Preferably the individual has a clear understanding and meaningful experience in performing data analysis using a standard statistical package [such as SAS (preferred)]. Excellent Excel skills, and solid Powerpoint capabilities

Conceptual thinking - strong strategic thinker with good commercial orientation. Able to see inside complex business problems to the core issues

Communication - effectively and concisely communicate key facts and issues through correspondences and verbally with minor supervision. Interface with various departments effectively to ensure project delivery. Ability to communicate analytical information to non analytical minded people.

Innovation – Innovative project management and strategic problem solving.

Knowledge and Expertise:

Demonstrated proficiency in using SAS and SQL.
3-5 years of credit risk analytical and strategy development experience.
A self-motivated team player able to define, structure and prioritize work for self, but who also has the flexibility and capability to change priorities when circumstances dictate
Strong commercial orientation
A passion for adding value to the business through the production of empirically sound analyses and recommendations
Passionate about data and statistical analysis, and how this contributes to the business
Self-starter who naturally assumes ownership of initiatives
