Data Warehouse Business Analyst - This position is responsible for working with business areas to understand the need for data to support analysis, and development of solutions to meet those needs. This person is deeply knowledgeable in the metrics and dimensions comprising a specific data warehouse subject area. He or she also has a broad understanding of how this subject area's information interacts with other content of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
'Key liaison on new project development efforts, offering knowledge and guidance for data mart development within the subject area
'Subject matter expert for the data mart within a subject area ' possess in-depth understanding of the metrics and relevant business questions against them
'Regularly assesses the gap between existing Data Warehouse information capabilities and future potential data sources
'Assists business community with answering analytical business questions ' primarily from the Data Warehouse but alternately from other corporate and external sources when necessary
'Researches and estimates enhancement requests for the subject area; assesses business impact and value, and communicates status
'Researches and estimates error correction strategies
'Manages and communicates business metadata definitions
'Mentors business users and internal IT business analysts on data mart content
'Provides user acceptance guidelines and certifies additions to subject area.
' SAP/BW experience
' Understanding of source and target data structures
' Understanding of ETL processes and products
' Knowledge of 3GL/4GL programming languages
' Strong problem-solving and meta data skills
