| Job Description: | Java J2EE Designer / Developer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Primary responsibilities are focused on the Technical Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Implementation of leading edge portal-based web services.
• Perform Analysis, Design, Development and Testing of code to defined deadlines and exacting standards.
• Utilize your collaborative skills to work with database administrators, system managers and business partners in order to ensure high reliability, availability and performance of applications.
• Leverage your analytical skills to learn our business processes and document the data and process models.
• Provide support and assistance to other departments as required.
Required Competencies:
• 3+ years of Java / J2EE experience
• 3+ years experience with end-to-end design of Object-Oriented J2EE applications
• 3+ years experience with HTML, XML, JSP, EJB, JavaScript, Java, Hibernate, Struts, SOAP, WCM, Apache, Tomcat, SOAP, JAXB 1.0.3, Web Trends
• 3+ years of professional GUI design experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoy contributing in a team environment
• Interest in learning and applying new technologies and concepts
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy making a difference in the business through your contributions
Desired Competencies:
• 2+ years of IBM WebSphere Portal Server (WSPS) or similar technology development experience (for example, Weblogic Portal, JBoss Portal, Apache Jetspeed, Apache Pluto, etc.)
• 3+ years experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server and Development or similar tools (i.e. WSAD/RAD 6)
• 2+ years experience working with relational data bases such as DB2 or Oracle; Proficient in SQL and stored procedure programming
• UNIX (AIX) and Windows NT (2000 & XP) experience
• System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
Educational Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Technology, Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering or Business or equivalent experience.
