The job holder should have solid Systems Management experience including: understanding of computer hardware and software design concepts, workload characterization, performance testing/analysis and problem resolution. The applicant should also possess a working knowledge of computer metrics including the ability to collect, analyze, interpret and make decisions based on computer metrics and present them to management.
Experience with systems management tools, operating systems such as: Sun, AIX, Windows, Linux, SQL/RDBMS and scripting languages such as Perl, Java or SAS a plus.
Responsibilities:
Capacity/Performance analysis, forecasting and budgeting
Development/Maintenance of capacity management tools and process
Capacity Assurance analysis and workload evaluation
Design reviews and hardware sizing
Reporting, metric collection and data management
Designs, implements, integrates and supports various mainframe, mid-frame, distributed, web and PC operating systems and ancillary products. S/he formulates system scope and objectives, analyzes user hardware and software needs and recommends upgrades or new purchases. S/he is involved in all phases of implementation and performs software installations and documents system software.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum 3-5 years experience required. Job holder must have thorough knowledge of the company's organization s technology practices, standards and procedures and implementing heterogeneous, open systems. S/he must have prior experience with producing detail-level functional requirement documentation and selecting the optimal testing environment for specific applications. S/he must also be experienced with coordinating all parties affected by putting new applications into production. Job holder must be familiar with designing and executing major software installations and key issues related to implementing a security system. S/he must be experienced at addressing a variety of technical (hardware, software or application) problems. S/he must also be customer-service oriented, able to build cooperative relationships with people and have effective oral and written communication skills. Job holder must be an experienced problem solver who thinks creatively about solutions and adapts easily to changing priorities. B.S. or B.A. or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree or certification beneficial.
