Job Description:Summary:

This position is responsible for leading the company’s effort to build and apply predictive response modeling across multiple marketing channels including direct mail and online marketing. The ideal candidate will have experience in database marketing, strong math and statistical skills, and proficiency in utilizing SAS, SQL, and Excel. Excellent analytical and modeling skills, data management and manipulations skills and solid code writing experience are requirements. The position also requires strong verbal and written communications skills, attention to detail, and the ability to problem solve.

Critical to this position is being able to develop a complete knowledge of all relevant data sources and continuously strive to improve productivity delivering to the overall goal of driving profitable new customer acquisition and cross sell. Ideal candidate has a minimum of five years experience in the financial services industry, a background in database marketing, and is able to meet deadlines and support quick business decisions.

Responsibilities:

Develops, maintains, and implements statistical models used to predict potential customers’ propensity to buy and to identify cross-sell opportunities

Supports daily marketing activities such as test designs, sample sizes, confidence intervals, ad hoc requests

Performs statistical analysis and maintains data for model implementation

Investigates new tools and technologies that will aid in data analysis

Formulates conclusions and presents findings of research in written and oral format to Marketing and Product Management.

Empower and educate team members across departments in the application of statistics to current business processes.

Requirements:

Minimum of a Masters degree in statistics, mathematics, or a similar field. Marketing undergraduate degree preferred.

A minimum of 5 years experience in direct marketing campaign analysis, a working knowledge of direct marketing methodologies, terminology and practices, an ability to organize high amounts of detail for multiple projects, and an ability to communicate technical requirements, specifications, data observations and marketing concepts in laymen’s terms.

Candidates should be familiar with clustering, conjoint analysis and predictive modeling including decision trees, and regression. Proficiency in the application of multivariate data analysis, modeling techniques and basic statistics. Multivariate regression, logistical regression, and/or discriminant analysis is a plus.

Proficiency in SAS, SQL, and Microsoft Office suite is required.

Strategic thinker with the ability to see the big picture and grasp the details of sophisticated business challenges

Strong project management skills
